I felt the burning sensation in my lungs as they screamed to breathe. And no matter how hard I pushed myself, I couldn't fulfill that which would end this. I suppose I was quite dramatic in my actions, but I felt no other option. It was as if nothing in the world mattered anymore. I was empty, drained of everything the felt right. Just recently everything seemed to have fallen on me at once. Past events, recent events, everything. I was reminded of who I suppose I really am. No matter what I do to change, I will forever be this way. I'll put on this false personage of what everyone thinks I am while hiding what truely lives within me. I suppose it wasn't so much an act, just a change of pace for a time. I found a way to side-step who I am and become something different, but as the saying goes; 'What goes up....' As unfortunate as it may seem, I still have a life, in the sense that I am still breathing. Think of me as you will. A failure, someone who will amount to nothing. Someone untrustworthy, a liar, a mask to hide what lies beneath. After all, I am as you say I am. So has it been proven to make one as you see them, you need only to beat it into their heads. It's bluntenly clear now what it is I'm meant to be.

I tried to die. The one thing I tried to escape from, ironically, stopped me. I wanted death to save me from being alone, but as the room grew darker, it came to me that I'd be finishing my nightmare by dying alone. It's sad the way that even death will kick you when you're down...
